Steve Middleton first began contributing to Compers News in 2003, and took over as editor at the beginning of 2006.

He’s a genuine comper, with a real love of the hobby that stretches back over 30 years – his first prizes were a watch from Pritt glue and a 50p Postal Order from Whizzer and Chips comic, both way back in 1976!

Happily, he went on to bigger and better wins – and has won thousands of prizes worth tens of thousands of pounds over the years. Some of his biggest wins have included a round-the-world trip, £10,000 cash, and some wonderful holidays including Australia (twice!), Hong Kong, South Africa and the USA (four times).

His most exciting prize to date was a single day in Las Vegas with $10,000 to spend, the most fun was a treasure hunt in Hong Kong where he won his round-the-world trip, the most romantic was a trip to Paris where Steve proposed to his future wife, the most touching was a trip to Lapland where his children met the real Santa... it’s fair to say that comping has given him some unique and unforgettable experiences over the years.
