Something For The Weekend - Win a VW Campervan with Brothers Cider

Hello again compers!  How was your week, any nice wins to report?  Nothing new to report here, having another dry spell!  Do dry spells get you down, or do they spur you on to try different comping techniques and entry methods to get winning again?  I have been trying to enter more postal, tie breaker and photo comps this month, rather than just the hundreds of online entry and social media comps, so I am hoping maybe these lower entry effort comps my start to yield some fruit.  We aren’t far off the end of the month now either, when a lot of competitions will close and with a bit of luck all our winning emails, texts and letters come flooding in – got to stay positive haha!

Well here we are at another three day Bank Holiday weekend - where is the year going?  Do you have some plans for the long weekend, a BBQ or a nice walk out somewhere perhaps?  It is half-term here next week too, so will have the kiddos at home to work around my schedule of work, housework, cooking and comping!  Always a challenge keeping everyone happy and everything moving during the times that the children are off, but I think I have got things organised pretty much this time.  We are off to the mainland to celebrate my brother in law’s birthday as well, so that will break up the week!

If you are heading out into the garden for a BBQ, or socialising with friends maybe over a few drinks why not pick up some promotional packs of Brothers Cider when you do your Bank Holiday shopping.  To celebrate Brothers anniversary of starting to sell cider at the Glastonbury festival 20 years ago they are giving away an awesome VW Campervan, plus five glamping weekends!  The fabulous retro VW Campervan can sleep four people and is perfect for all those spontaneous summer weekends away with the family or a group of friends!  The five runners up glamping trips for two include return train travel to Somerset, three nights’ glamping accommodation in an eco-od and a breakfast hamper.  To enter you need to buy a promotional pack of Brothers Premium Cider 500ml bottles and enter the unique code from inside the bottle cap online at www.brotherscidercampervan.co.uk/ and you will be told instantly if you are a winner!  You can enter up to six unique codes per person per day, and the promotion runs until 23:59 on 31st August 2015, so plenty of time for you to get involved!

Well there may not be made competitions these days for cars, but here are a few that you can enter this weekend, along with some other great camping themed competitions too!

  • Do you like your camping a bit more luxury than mud and dirt, and do you also like to enjoy good, home-grown food and cooking?  Enter the White Stuff competition and you and a friend could be enjoying a fabulous trip to River Cottage in Devon for a Friday night dining experience, a Saturday cooking masterclass and three nights’ glamping at nearby Crafty Camping!  Simply answer the question at the website (Our advice – Devon) by the closing date of 30th May 2015 for a chance of winning.
  • Do you enjoy camping when the weather gets more pleasant?  How about winning a new Coleman Cortes Octagon tent and accessories worth over £700 to get you really enjoying your camping this year?  Out & About Live are offering this great prize, bursting with camping goodies and all you need to do to enter is answer the question (Our advice – 8) by the closing date of 31st May 2015.
  • Fancy enjoying the whole summer from the comfort of a new BMW 3 Series and enjoying some top sporting events as well?  The Times are offering one lucky winner the chance to loan a fantastic BMW car from 25th June 2015 until 7th September 2015, as well as receiving hospitality tickets for the Goodwood Festival of Speed, tickets for the Henley Festival and tickets to the QBE International match at Twickenham.  To enter all you need to do is enter your details at the website before the closing date of 23:59 on 10th June 2015.  The winner will need to be over 25, have a full clean driving license and at least two years’ driving experience to enter.
  • Are you heading off to a festival this summer, and fancy winning some essentials to take with you?  Vogue magazine is offering a great festival prize bundle including a suede snake-print pillow tote bag, crepe-soled safari boots and a high quality Livingstone tent in a bright, multi-coloured print, making it easy to find in the mass tent-fields!  To enter simply answer the question at the website (Our advice – Anna Ewers) by the closing date of 11th June 2015.
  • How about winning a stylish new Audi A1 in your choice of colours, half a tank of fuel and 12 months road tax?  Enter the Channel 4 Racing competition and you could be cruising around time in this beautiful new car this summer!  To enter you need to enter via text or post – postal entry is the cheapest method of entry, but I think you will agree it is definitely worth the cost of a postcard and a stamp!  Send your name and phone number to Racing 1022, PO Box 104, Winchester SO25 1AA before the closing date of midnight on 25th June 2015 for a chance to win.

Happy weekend comping and lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Hi Kirsty
Have just looked at my May list (which I keep in the Scraobook, Wishlist and Photo album section of Chatterbox) and there are 5 prizes on there, which is rather good as I've been a bit busy with other things - mainly rediscovering cycling after 30 years and going off on family bike rides! Usually we drive to our favourite chippy but today we cycled and ate our fish and chips in the nearby park. Delicious - felt very lucky to live where we do.
Back to the prizes, though - rather family orientated, which is good. A Jake the dog dressing up outfit for Rachel from Adventure times magazine - Rachel gave us a good laugh when we told her the costume had a tail and she half turned and turned again, saying 'where/ Where's the tail?' and was spinning round looking for it, chasing her tail just like a real dog!
We have a family ticket for the Northumberland County Show on Monday - not too sure about this as my two don't really like animals except for horses. Still, we will try it out. That was from Raring2go, a rather good website that has lots of local comps for all areas.
A book 'Not Quite Nice' by Celia Imrie from Living France magazine. Rather nice as I haven't had an actual new book for ages - unless you count 'Scales and Arpeggios for Piano Grade 2' and even that was nearly 2 years ago!
Walkers crisp vouchers - I have been using mine to get the multi packs of Walkers and stocking up my crisps that way, plus the rather yummy Hoi sin duck sushi that Tesco do.
Rachel and I set a comp on Chatterbox about the best children's prizes people had won for Rachel to judge and, as she really couldn't decide between 3 lovely prizes, we decided to award all 3 a prize. So we have been busy with that. Then she had a letter from Busy Time magazine to say that she had won a Pom Pom Monster Making kit from Busy Time magazine so she was very pleased with herself.
We are currently waiting for the Pom Pom Monster Making kit, a £4 Walkers voucher and the £1000 I won last month from Real People so the postman will be very welcome when he arrives with all those!
Enjoy your half term
Love Kathryn

Hi Kathryn so sorry for the delay, as you know it is a busy tie of year! Good for you for getting back into cycling! We are big walkers here and I am getting back into circuit training - pre-summer health kick hehe. Sounds like you have had some lovely family orientated prizes. I think they are the best sometimes - nothing better than seeing someone you love really appreciate something you have won. Still mega busy here as we have the eldest daughter's sports day this afternoon - pom poms at the ready lol. Good luck with the June comping - look forward to hearing about your wins! Kirsty xx
