Something For The Weekend - Win Wimbledon Finals Tickets with Jacobs Creek

Hello again compers!  How was your week, any nice wins to report?  Seriously, May already?  This year is going far too fast for my liking - it will be the summer holidays before we know it!  Feels like it has been a really unproductive week this week, as have had both children home sick from school at one point or another – eldest daughter had tonsillitis, and then the youngest came down with scarlet fever.  All this has meant that everything else has been up in the air, including working, cooking and comping!  Both girls seem to be on the mend now, but I feel like I have lost a whole week to illness and medical appointments!  Never mind, the weekend tomorrow so time to relax – hurrah!

I must admit, one of the ways I know it is truly the weekend is that first glass of wine, or that first cold beer being poured on a Friday night when the kids are asleep.  We tend not to drink at all during the week, as no-one likes waking up on a school day feeling less than 100%.  I do however like a lager, a cider or a glass of wine with my hubby on weekends, preferably with some cheese & biscuits and a 1940s Film Noir!  How about you, how do you like to relax at the weekends?

When I purchase a few bottles of wine this weekend I will be sure to keep an eye out for the promotional bottles of Jacobs Creek that should be in the shops at the moment.  They are giving away 5 pairs of tickets to watch the Semi-Finals and Finals of Wimbledon 2015, as well as 500 x iPad Mini 3s!  Just imagine sitting at Centre Court, eating strawberries and cream in the sunshine and watching Andy Murray volley and grunt his way to a second Wimbledon title – how amazing would that be!  To enter you need to buy a promotional bottle of Jacobs Creek wine and enter the code online at http://www.jacobscreek.com/uk/wimbledon/.  You will be told instantly if you have won one of the 500 x iPad Mini 3s and you will also be entered into the draw for the Wimbledon tickets.  Entries for the tickets close at midnight on 7th June 2015, but you can continue to enter to win the iPad Minis until midnight on 31st October 2015, so plenty of time to get involved.

If you fancy going to watch some live sporting events this year, here are some other competitions you might like to enter this weekend:

  • Do you know a footie fan who would love a once in a lifetime trip to watch the Europa League final, which is in Warsaw this year?  Enter the competition being hosted by FourFuorTwo and the winner and a friend will be flying off to Poland with a night’s accommodation, corporate hospitality and tickets to the match.  To enter you need to answer the question (Our advice – Sevillas FC) by the closing date of 23:59 on 5th May 2015.
  • Fancy donning your glad-rags and a fancy hat and living it up at the Investec Derby Ladies Day?  The Derby Festival is considered to be the greatest flat race in the world – more than 125,000 people visit over the two days!  To be in with a chance of winning Grandstand tickets courtesy of Great British Chefs simply answer the question on the website (Our advice – Guinea Fowl) by the closing date of midnight on 8th May 2015.
  • Is rugby your sport of choice, or do you know someone for whom it is?  I bet they would love to win the competition being run by The British & Irish Lions – a trip for two to Australia to support the team in Brisbane on June 22nd 2015.  To enter this one you need to upload a photo and message of support for the team, to be displayed on a digital shirt to show the team the level of support they have.  Entries need to be in by midnight on 10th May 2015, so get snapping!
  • Would you like a break away to indulge you passion for golf?  The Telegraph is giving away a lovely two night break for two to Guernsey, staying on a B&B basis at the 4* St Pierre Park Hotel & Golf Resort, including return flights with Aurigny.  To enter simply enter your details at the website by midnight on 29th May 2015, and you could be practising your drive in the beautiful Channel Islands!
  • How about supporting the England Cricket Team in an upcoming international tournament, including the Investec Ashes?  Enter the competition being run by Hardy’s Wines and you could be winning one of 146 x pairs of international cricket tickets – what a great prize for the cricket-lover in your life!  To enter you need to supply your details at the website before the closing date of midnight on 24th August 2015 – you can enter once per day until that date too!

Happy weekend comping and lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Thanks Kirsty! Love a good excuse to buy some wine :)

Hi Kirsty

Goodness, what a time you are having! Happy to hear that both girls are on the mend now.
I don't drink alcohol and my husband's not a big drinker either, tho we have won a couple of bottles of Speckled Hen. To go with the one we bought for the comp? Still, the school fayre is coming!
Every time I open the fridge I am confronted by Onken and Mullerrice. And that awful coffee yoghurt that Tesco is trying to promote. The only plus side of this is that I had stitches at the dentist and the fridge was already full of soft food!
One of our comp group won on Morrisons/ Aquafresh, Boots Simple Wipes, Onken, Speckled Hen cufflinks AND Mullerrice. I was delighted for her but a bit fed up of buying all this stuff that we don't normally eat with no reward for effort.
Then I got a letter at the end of last week to say I had won £1000 with Real People magazine! Absolutely ecstatic! Dancing!

Won a few other bits and pieces too, swingball, clubcard points, children's book from Primary Times, dvd from the Beano - and several Walkers lunch vouchers. Out of 5, I've won four! Entered a few minutes ago and didn't win, everyone must be catching up with their comps.
Found a comp in the Paddington dvd to win a family holiday at http://whippersnapperkids.com/paddington/and have posted a few children's comps on Chatterbox. My son didn't tell me the magic word was on the leaflet, can this really be a child of mine?!
Good luck with all your entries

Kathryn

Hi Kathryn good to hear from you. I know what you mean about the Onken - we only bought a few tubs but already am fed up of seeing it and buying it. Hubby bought some Thatchers Gold cider with the Glastonbury tickets comp on, so we will see when he opens them today. How great for your friend to have won all those on-packs - know what you mean about it being disheartening though - especially when we are buying things we wouldn't normally use. That's awesome about your cash win - how fantastic! Hope you are going to treat yourself to something lovely. Thanks so much for the Paddington link - I couldn't get it to work first time but here is another link in case anyone else wants to enter too - http://whippersnapperkids.com/paddington/#seville. Will also pop onto Chatterbox later to have a look at your others. Good luck with everything and lots of Lucky Dust xx
