Something For The Weekend - Win £1,000 with Cadbury Creme Egg Golden Goo-less Egg

Hello again compers!  How was your week, any nice wins to report?  Nothing new for me to report here unfortunately, but only just getting back into my comping groove and the chest infection is still raging on  Managed to get a few good comping sessions in this week, but there’s a lot going on with work, family, school commitments and prep for Easter too, so not as much as I would like.

Those of us with little ones will no doubt be gearing up for the two week Easter break – my girls break up next Friday, eek!  I am still working throughout Easter, so am trying to get myself as far ahead as I can, so we can take a few days away to visit relatives and do day trips etc with the children.  Do you struggle to fit everything in during school holidays, without succumbing to vast quantities of guilt for not getting it all done?  I find it very difficult to juggle work, spending time with the family, getting outside and comping while the kids are off.  I am very lucky that my husband works from home too, so we both help to occupy the children during the holidays.

Do you go all out for Easter: presents, chocolates, parties etc, or do you prefer it low-key?  The Easter Bunny does visit our house and leaves a few eggs for the girls, but we don’t go as mad about the holiday as some friends I have do.  The girls have been learning about the Easter Story at school, so we will make time to watch an age appropriate story that depicts it over the holidays, and will otherwise spend the two weeks catching up on sleep and having some fun together as a family.

When you are out and about looking for the perfect Easter Eggs for your family do make sure you keep an eye out for Cadbury Crème Eggs, and purchase a few.  Once again Cadbury are running their popular Golden Goo-less Egg promotion, giving away a total of 108 cash prizes!  If you open your Cadbury Crème Egg and find it not filled with delicious goo, but with a golden ticket, you could be winning one of 14 x £1,000 cheques, or one of 94 x £100 cheques.  Details on how to claim the prize will be included within the golden ticket, and make sure to retain all your packaging, receipts and golden ticket to claim.  One £1,000 Golden Egg will be distributed somewhere in the UK every week during the promotion, and at least 6 x £100 eggs too.  The promotion runs until 5th April 2015, and all claims need to be made by 17:00 on 31st May 2015 to be honoured.  Do let us know if you are lucky enough to find one!

If a nice fat cheque, a wedge of cash or a bundle of vouchers would come in handy at the moment, here are some other great competitions for you to try this weekend:

  • We all know feeding, clothing and looking after very little ones can be an expensive business.  UKMums.tv is giving away the perfect prize for mums of babies – a Boots Baby Essentials pack and a £200 Boots voucher!  The pack contains tons of goodies including bottles, baby bath, wipes, nappies and cotton wool.  You can then use the voucher to buy even more items for your tiny person, or maybe treat yourself!  To enter visit the website and answer the question (Our advice – 1890) by 14:00 on 23rd March 2015.
  • The seasons are starting to change, and that can only mean one thing – time for a new wardrobe!  If your spring wardrobe could do with an overhaul, why not enter the SoSensational competition to win £250 to spend at Wallis!  You could be indulging in new dresses, accessories and shoes courtesy of the website and all you need to do to enter is answer the question (Our advice – CLIC Sargent) by midnight on 23rd March 2015.
  • Are you already longing for a summer holiday somewhere warm?  I know I am!  A £600 Thomson Holidays gift card could definitely go some way towards booking that all important break away couldn’t it?  Enter the competition from Landscape magazine and Tena Lady and you could be booking up something exotic, simply by visiting the website and entering your email address.  You can enter every day until the closing date of 24th March 2015 (likely to close before noon)
  • The change in the seasons often prompts us to get the house clean, tidy and in order.  It also sometimes makes us want to replace existing furnishings and furniture, to ring the changes in our homes.  If your sofa is looking a little tired and in need of a change, why not enter the Stylist competition to win £800 to spend at The Sofa & Chair Company.  To enter the competition answers the question (our advice – c. Modular) online by midnight on 24th March 2015.
  • We have saved the best til last – how would you like to own a brand new Land Rover Defender Station Wagon with a customised Joules paintjob and a Harris Tweed interior, or £20,000 in cash – unbelievable prize, right?  To celebrate their jubilee, Joules are giving away this awesome prize, and all you need to do is to Like their Facebook page and enter via the app before the closing date of 31st March 2015.  Plus, if you get 2 friends to sign up via your link, you will unlock a bonus £500 Joules vouchers giveaway too!

Hi Kirsty
One or 2 small prizes this week; £5 Love2shop voucher as a runner up Crusader Cadet on Chatterbox, some cloud shaped cutters from Cake magazine and, after my sweep of Shaun the Sheep competitions, that also netted a prize; a Shaun the Sheep Easter Egg from Simply Knitting magazine.
All sorts of things happening here - hospitalised relatives, passport panic, one thing after another so the prizes came as a little light relief!
I was interested to read that a Take a Break winner on chatterbox entered by text; I usually enter online but have never won. I have won things on text competitions from some magazines and you do wonder how they make any money from online entries.
I meant to search for the new OMG magazine as that has an entry form and at least one comp in it can only be entered that way but I haven't actually seen it. I assumed it was a national magazine.
Everyone seems to be winning on Onken; had never tried natural yoghurt before and tbh, not really a fan. Not that fussed on the prizes either, mixer type things just need to be cleaned. I just like my wooden spoon - though winning a wooden spoon is not my idea of a good prize!
Trying to enter lots of things and win prizes - aren't we all! Happy comping
Kathryn

Hi Kathryn Good to hear from you, and sounds like you have had a nice run of little wins, well done you! I know what you mean about comping coming as light relief to life too - lots going on here too at the moment, so am looking forward to getting back into my comping now. I haven't entered the Onken comp as yet, but I do need to as I see lots of people winning on it too. Going to do a trawl through this month's CN and find comps for the kids to enter over Easter too - mine break up on Friday eek! Trying to get ahead with work so I can take afew days off over Easter - keep searching out and winning those lovely prizes! Take care and speak soon Kirsty xx
