Compers News Benefits - Winners Lists

Hello again compers!  How is your week going, any nice wins to report?  I won a very local competition on Facebook this week – a £10 for the coffee shop on Cowes High Street!  Not sure how many entries there were, but will be a nice coffee and cake outing with the children at the weekend!  School is nearly finished here, and then we are really into the Christmas festivities!  I think we are off on a family cinema and pizza trip this weekend, as a surprise for the children.  What festive antics do you have planned for the weekend?  How has your December been on the whole, have you managed to keep up, or have you adopted a more relaxed approach to your comping?  I found it quite hard to fit as much in as I would have liked, so have had to be realistic about the amount I can do and just not worry too much about it.  I have still managed some nice wins so can’t moan!

One thing I think a lot of us find very difficult this time of year, especially if you do social media competitions, is keeping track of who won.  Such a lot of promoters don’t tag people in their wins these days, or don’t tag them properly.  Whatever idiosyncrasies Facebook has in particular I don’t think we always get the notifications we should if a promoter comments on our post, or directly tags us in a comment.  Where does that leave us then when it comes to finding out if we won?  I rely quite heavily on comping friends and announcement groups on Facebook, but as a Compers News member you also have a great tool at your disposal!

Within the Chatterbox forum (if you haven’t registered as a member yet go and do it now, it’s great!) there is a section within the Comping Crusader category entitled “Winners Lists”.  Here you will find a very useful list of posts, created by fellow members and Compers News admins, which supply winners’ lists from current and just finished competitions.  Sometimes promoters just post a list of winners to their website, in an email or over social media and don’t tag anyone in.  But when kind Compers News members see these lists they can then paste them into the Winners Lists forum!  In this way you can have a scan of the posts people have found and listed on Chatterbox and see if you are listed there! This facility is particularly helpful this time of year, when the all-present advents take over your Facebook and Twitter feeds and it becomes more difficult to keep track of winners every day.

If you have a particular competition you are really keen on winning, you can search the Winners Lists forum to see if the winners have been posted from that competition yet.  You can even try searching for your name too!  Please be aware though that we request members to respect the privacy of other members.  If you know the CN nickname of a real name posted please don’t mention them in the Winners Lists.  By all means send them a private message, but please don’t refer to people by their real name within the forums.  Please also only post official lists as provided by the promoters – until the promoters announce the winners it isn’t official!

So there you have it, what a great tool for all our members at this time of year.  Please do posts winners lists when you see them, and help your fellow members find as many of their wins as possible!  If we all look out for each other then we can all continue having winning success!

Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Hi Kirsty

Wow, you sound way more organised than I am. I have been reading your posts from time to time but haven't had time to reply til now.
School and work - for me - finish on Friday, which I thought was fab until I realised that means I am going to have to try and finish off EVERYTHING tomorrow when my children are at school. I t doesn't help that I don't get paid until Friday.
Still can't believe I won the Europa notebooks competition, have kept expecting them to come back and say no, we didn't mean to give YOU something that good!
Not really entered much since, still walking on air; apart from that my PAYG has finally given up the ghost so when my contract ends for my iPhone on December 31st I will convert it to PAYG. Unfortunately that means I have no phone to enter text comps at the moment as strictly speaking my iPhone belongs to my husband;s business until the contract ends.
The only thing I have won is second prize in my children's school's Grand Christmas raffle - a nice £50. I won it on the day of our comp group meeting so I think the magic worked.
I think I might draw up a timetable of things to do with the kids - tho so far it consists of organising a haircut for my son and going to buy the vegetables at the independent fruit and veg shop on Monday.
I really need to get comping but Christmas and life are getting in the way. Good luck with all the entries you do manage to fit in!
Kathryn

Sorry for the delay Kathryn, as I am sure it is there, things have gottn rather busy ere! Can't quite believe it is Christmas Eve already! Huge congrats on your Europa win! My wins have dried up now as have been working too much and enjoying activities with the family to comp very much. Well, lots of prep to do here, as I am sure you have lol.
